» Local TV pioneer to speak at ATRiuM

News is the lifeblood of democracy, so there’s a lot at stake in the bidding to become the next provider of it for TV viewers in Wales.

Glamorgan students can hear from one of the more intriguing bidders – Gordon Main – in a guest lecture on Tuesday 2 March  in the cinema (2pm).

Gordon’s pioneering work with an online TV service for Pembrokeshire drove him to put forward an idea for a network of 22 local news operations for Wales.

His lecture could not be more timely, as a contribution to the debate about the future of news.

A full list of  forthcoming TV/Media/Journalism lectures at the Atrium:

·         March 2: Gordon Main, Pembrokeshire TV

·         March 2: Oona King, Channel 4

·         March 16: Liz Davies, Abergavenny Chronicle

·         March 17: Hywel William, Ofcom
