1. Climate Change, Pollution and Risks

Topics include: Pressures on environment and climate, Environment and Health and Natural hazards.

2. Sustainable Management of Resources

Topics include: Conservation and sustainable management of natural and man-made resources and biodiversity and management of marine environments.

3. Environmental Technologies

Topics include: Environmental technologies for observation, simulation, prevention, mitigation, adaptation, remediation and restoration of the natural and man-made environment, Protection, conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage, including human habitat and Technology assessment, verification and testing

4. Earth Observation and assessment tools for sustainable development

Topics include: Earth and ocean observation systems and monitoring methods for the environment and sustainable development and forecasting methods and assessment tools for sustainable development taking into account different scales of observation

5. Horizontal Actions

Topics include: Dissemination and knowledge transfer and uptake of EU-research results

Budget: EUR 193.5m

There are three main activities/areas for this call:

1. Sustainable production and management of biological resources from land, forest and aquatic environments.

Topics include: new methods for forest functions, goods and services, self sustained aquaculture, bee health, spatial analysis of rural development measures and Globalisation.

2. Fork to farm: Food (including seafood), health and well being

Topics include: food habit formation, stress, addiction and eating behaviour, biomarkers, transparency along the food value chain and by-products in food processing.

3. Life sciences, biotechnology and biochemistry for sustainable non-food products and processes

Topics include: Abiotic stress tolerance, biomass, nanobiotechnology and innovative biotechnology.

Budget: EUR 188.85m
