» A Christian-Muslim Men’s Retreat

The story of Abraham’s spiritual journey is one shared by both Christians and Muslims, and one that continues to inspire and guide us throughout our lives.

The Christian-Muslim Forum is holding a retreat for men, entitled “Following in the Footsteps of Abraham”.

This will be in the beautiful setting of St Deiniol’s Library, Hawarden, North Wales, on 4th -6th June 2010. It will be an opportunity to share our faith and experiences in a safe, relaxed space and to explore what it really means to be men of faith.

The leaders are: Symon Hill, a Quaker Christian, writer and activist, and author of The No-nonsense Guide to Religion Abdullah Trevathan, Senior Lecturer in Religious Education at Roehampton University and leader in the BBC’s television programme ‘The Retreat’.

The cost is £120 per person. Bursaries are available.

To reserve your place or find out more about the retreat please e-mail: mustafa@christianmuslimforum.org

» Glamorgan Gives Back ....

Have you ever thought of volunteering ?

This year the Students’ Union in partnership with the Chaplaincy launches Glamorgan Gives Back

This matches students from the University with projects in the community. Would you like to clean up the environment, work with local children, help adults with learning difficulties or visit the elderly? Now you can, through GGB, helping Glamorgan students Give something Back to the people around us.

The launch meeting for GGB will be in Shafts at the Students’ Union at 5.30 p.m. next Tuesday, 14th October. Here, you will be able to see what projects are available in the local community, meet other students interested in the same project, and register your interest in what you’d like to do.

As an integral part of GGB, the Chaplaincy is offering Christian volunteers the chance to come together, to pray for the people and the projects we are volunteering to help, and to deepen our undertstanding of how we serve Christ by serving others.

The CPR Group – Chaplaincy Prayer & Reflection – will run every Tuesday from October 21st at 4.15 p.m. in the University Chaplaincy building at 20 Llantwit Road. If interested, come along, dial 01443 654060 or click here to email .

The CPR group is made available by the chaplains, who will be happy to offer moral and practical support to students from other faiths who would wish to set up a similar group. If that’s you, please get in touch too.
