Since 2001, civic society in the UK has marked Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27th. This date is the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Nazi Germany. In the UK, it is a day for remembrance not only of the Jewish Holocaust, but also of all other acts of genocide.

In 2011, we are invited to consider ‘Untold Stories’ of genocide. Today, Thursday 27th January, you are invited to:

- spend a few minutes at the visual meditation running in the Chaplaincy Room, Tramsheds (Lower Glyntaf) from 11 a.m. to 12 noon or between 1.45 p.m. and 2.45 p.m.

- send a request for prayers to chaplaincy@glam.ac.uk – these prayers will be offered in the Chaplaincy Room at 12.05 on Thursday 27th and again at 20 Llantwit Road during the 12.15 communion on Wednesday 2nd February.

- if you cannot attend in person, view the on-line meditation which will be posted on the Chaplaincy website from 11 a.m. today until 2nd February, and light the virtual candle.
