It is that time of year again, when posters, placards, and permanently marked t-shirts can be seen everywhere on campus. Election season is upon us.

This year, the Students’ Union is trying something new: The election will take place online, through Glamlife. Among other things, this recently confirmed method of voting means you no longer have to pre-register with the to vote.

All you need to do is log in to Glamlife between Tuesday and Thursday next week (17th – 19th March 2009), find the link to the election, select it, and vote. The link will be on the front page of Glamlife, temporarily taking over the place where the Students’ Union Quick Link is located.

Ideally you’ll take a few minutes to find out who the candidates are before you vote for them. Check out their manifestos to see what they stand for and which direction they intend to take the Students’ Union in. If you want to be really thorough, you can even read up on the roles and responsibilities that the candidates will be taking on next year. And if you have a question, you can find candidates’ campaign groups on Facebook, join, and ask them questions on their forums.

As always, feel free to let us know what you think about the elections by posting comments on this blog!
