» DEADLINE EXTENDED: ESF HE Funding Opportunities!

Due to substantial demand for funding under the various ESF HE funding schemes, the deadline for UOG staff has been extended. If you are interested in participating in any of the programmes below, please complete the brief two-page Project Idea Form (PIF) and return to Euro by Friday 28th August. Those who have already submitted PIFs do not need to re-apply.

The University’s European and External Resource Office recently held a workshop for academics to provide information on four collaborative programmes.

Work Based Learning (WBL) Foundation Degrees (FD) Access to Masters (ATM) Knowledge Exchange Student Scholarships (KESS)

These programmes will support the development and delivery of new ‘demand responsive’ tuition that range from taster and top up work-based learning to Foundation Degrees. In addition, Faculties can apply for student scholarships for taught Masters, as well as for research Masters and Phds.

In addition, support has been secured from the Welsh Assembly Government to establish the University of the Heads of the Valley’s Initiative (UHOVI). The collaborative initiative led by the University of Glamorgan and UW Newport will support disadvantaged communities in the Heads of Valley region to engage with and provide access to learning opportunities from non accredited provision right through to CQFW level 6.

Over a six-year period, the total funding available for these five programmes will exceed £140m.

This is an exciting opportunity for the University and one you will not want to miss!

Please see the presentations from the workshop below, which explain how to engage with and obtain project funding, including information on types of activities, target sectors, application process and reporting guidelines.
