Is TurnItIn Required or Mandated?

Question Do I have to use TurnItIn? Is there a University requirement for faculty to use this tool?
Answer No, there is no requirement that all faculty must use the TurnItIn service. This is an optional tool, licensed for the benefit of the faculty and students of Pepperdine University.

The University does have a general policy for TurnItIn usage. If you plan to use TurnItIn within your course(s), please read this short policy document for guidelines, sample syllabus statement, and other information.

I forgot to turn on student access to Originality Reports! What do I do?

Question If I forgot to turn on student access to Originality Reports. Can I turn this on afterward?
Answer Yes. You may edit the specific assignment and turn on student access to their originality report.
  1. Go to the course.
  2. Go to the content area where you posted the TurnItIn Assignment
  3. Click "Edit View"
  4. Click "Modify"
  5. Wait for the assignment settings to appear
  6. Modify the assignment
  7. Click "Submit"
