‘Engaging young people: Investigating ethical boundaries and online storytelling’

This is a project funded by the Beacon for Wales. Hearing real stories about people’s experiences can make a difference in helping healthcare professionals to improve patient care. There are few stories available from young people at present and little is known about how we should approach and ask young people to tell their stories.

We are going to conduct an online focus group with about 16 young people aged 16-19 years to understand their views on sharing health-related stories with others. The online discussion will be held at the project website (http://ypstorytelling.ning.com/).

This project will contribute to the development of using Internet technology as a means of promoting active engagement of young people in research.
