» Title: FP7 – Calls for Proposals – Research for benefit of SME’s

Funding Source: Seventh Framework Programme (FP7)

Summary: Strengthening the innovation capacity of European SMEs and their contribution to the development of new technology based products and markets by helping them outsource research, increase their research efforts, extend their networks, better exploit research results and acquire technological know how, bridging the gap between research and innovation.

Call Identifier: FP7-SME-2008-1

This call is open to all research fields for the benefit of particular groups (in particular SME’s).

• At least 3 participants must be independent SMEs established in at least 3 MS or AC.

• At least 2 participants must be RTD performers (having the capacity to carry out research at the request of SMEs), independent from any other participant.

The size of the consortium should typically be between 5 and 10 participants. The overall budget of the project should typically be between EUR 500 000 to EUR 1 500 000 and the duration of the project should normally be between 1 and 2 years.

Sum: EUR 92.72m

» Title: FP7 – Calls for Proposals – Research Potential

Funding Source: Seventh Framework Programme (FP7)

Call Identifier: FP7-REGPOT-2008-1

This call is for any research topic covered by the EC FP7 and aims to stimulate the realisation of the full research potential of the enlarged Union by unlocking and developing existing or emerging research potential in the European Union’s convergence regions and outermost regions1, and helping to strengthen the capacities of their researchers to successfully participate in research activities at EU level.

Restrictions: Only public or private research entity (as a single proposer) in the EU Convergence region and Outermost regions are allowed to participate.

Sum: EUR 29m

Deadline: 14 March 2008


Call Identifier: FP7-REGPOT-2008-2

This call is for any research topic covered by the EC FP7 and aims to provide evaluation facilities through which any research entity in the qualifying regions, whether or not applying for funding under the above call, can obtain an international independent expert evaluation of the level of their overall research quality and capability (including management and research infrastructures) and define an Action Plan to improve their research capacities.

Restrictions: Only public or private research entity (as a single proposer) in the EU Convergence region and Outermost regions are allowed to participate.

Sum: EUR 1m

Deadline: 14 March 2008
